Christmas Appeal

Last year, thanks to your generosity, Cranleigh Lions provided over 100 hampers for individuals and families who otherwise would not have the luxuries that many of us have during the Christmas period. A big part of the Christmas Appeal is for Santa and his sleigh, towed by Rudolph, to visit the Cranleigh village estates.

This year, we are offering you the chance to take a selfie with your children and Santa.

Our planned visit schedule is below, but as last year, we won’t be knocking at doors or giving out toys – just listen out for our bell and the sound of carols.

Santa’s Sleigh will be stopping at various points so you can say hello and get a selfie.

Subject to the weather, he will be visiting on the following dates in December.

If the weather’s wet, please check here or follow us on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest

Santa will be visiting:
Sunday 5th December 2021 – Hitherwood estate starting 5pm
Tuesday 7th December 2021 – Summerlands estate starting 6pm
Thursday 9th December 2021 – Park Mead estate starting 6pm
Sunday 12th December 2021 – Elmbridge Road area starting 5pm
Tuesday 14th December 2021 – Cranleigh Mead area starting 6pm
Thursday 16th December 2021 – The new estates (Longhurst Park, Parklands Drive, and Amlets Place) starting 6pm
Sunday 19th December 2021 – Wyphurst area starting 5pm

See below for the routes on each evening.

As well as not handing out gifts and sweets, Lions will not be knocking on your door and asking for donations.
For this year’s Christmas Appeal the hampers will be replaced by grocery vouchers but you can support the appeal by a variety of means:

By a donation, perhaps a purchase at the Lions’ Market stall each Thursday before Christmas between 8am and 2pm in Village Way
or
Lions will be collecting outside of Coop and Sainsburys supermarkets between 10am and 4pm on Saturdays 4th and 11th December 2021
or
online using our donation link.

We will not be collecting food, but instead, we ask you to help us by donating generously on those days, either cash or card or via our new QR donations code.

Cranleigh Lions would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and to thank you all for your generous support. Without this support, we wouldn’t be able to help the less fortunate people of Cranleigh.
