Christmas Hamper Appeal
Each year the Cranleigh Lions make up over 100 Christmas hampers that are delivered to individuals and families in and around Cranleigh who otherwise wouldn’t have the luxuries that many of us have at this time of year.
The Cranleigh Lions need your help to fill these hampers and so two Saturdays in December we will be outside of the Co-Op and Sainsbury’s in Cranleigh, collecting donations of food items such as biscuits, Christmas pudding, coffee, tea, sugar, jams, honey, marmalade, mince pies, sweets and chocolate, soups and canned foods or a cash donation.
With the cash donations we buy eggs and some additional luxury items, if people haven’t already bought those for us, make up the hampers and distribute them in time for Christmas.
If you’re not sure what to donate please ask one of the Lions on the way into the supermarket.
Suggested items: Biscuits, Christmas Pudding, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Jams, Honey, Marmalade, Mince Pies, Sweets and Chocolate, Soups and Canned Food.
If possible we prefer to collect cash on the second Saturday.
The Santa Sleigh will be visiting Cranleigh in December playing carols, with Santa on board giving out sweets and small presents to young children, who are generally very excited! Donations collected support our Christmas Hamper Appeal.
